Petsource by Scoular’s $75M expansion triples freeze-dried pet food capacity

Petsource by Scoular has completed a $75 million expansion at its Seward, Nebraska, plant that delivers extra capacity to help current customers grow and space to accommodate new customers seeking production at its state-of-the-art facility. The company says the tripling of capacity also enables customers to more efficiently introduce new products to the market, with the expansion providing an additional 70,000 square feet of freeze-dried pet food ingredient manufacturing space. Fulton threatens to cut off animal control in the city of Atlanta

All agreed — except for Atlanta, which accounts for 54% of all animal control calls. Commissioners ultimately voted 4-0 to stop serving Atlanta as of April 3 if the city hasn’t signed the new agreement by then. “We are looking forward to resolving our differences with the County,” a spokesperson for Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens said when asked for a response after the vote. Meat-Eaters Prefer Not To See Animals On Meat Labels

People who eat meat prefer not to see the animals they are eating on product labels, a new survey by the Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board (AHDB) has found. In the study, nearly two-thirds of meat-eaters found “food imagery” more appealing for “pork” products than pictures of pigs. The AHDB is part of the UK Government Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs (Defra). Animal rehabilitation agency in crisis

The Calgary Wildlife Rehabilitation Society says it is facing an existential crisis as expenses rise and the donations it relies on to keep operating fall. Calgary Wildlife cares for injured and orphaned wildlife in the region. Executive director Beki Hunt says increased regulatory pressures, coupled with the escalating costs associated with wildlife care, have led to a 30 per cent increase in expenses.
