GREAT FALLS, Mont. – We are thrilled to announce a heartwarming partnership between The City of Great Falls Animal Shelter and the Children’s Museum of Montana, aimed at inspiring children to cultivate compassion for homeless animals through the power of art and storytelling.
Each week, the Children’s Museum of Montana will feature two furry friends – one adorable dog and one cuddly cat – looking for their forever home at the City of Great Falls Animal Shelter.
To participate, kids can simply grab their crayons, pencils, or favorite writing tools and create a picture or write a story about the featured dog, cat, or both! Let their imagination run wild – show us the animals’ playful personality, their future adventures with a new forever family, or anything that makes them special.
With their parent or guardian’s permission, kids can drop off their amazing creations at the Children’s Museum of Montana front desk! Each week, the chosen artist(s) work will be featured on both the Children’s Museum of Montana and Great Falls Animal Shelter Facebook pages, amplifying their talents and celebrating their contribution to this initiative.
Our first drawings of the week feature two beloved characters: Roger the dog and Smokey the cat. Selected by the staff at the Children’s Museum of Montana, these charming companions were brought to life through the creative talents of 6-year-old Raelynn.
Raelynn’s adorable depiction of Roger and Smokey will serve as a heartwarming reminder of the joy that animals bring to our lives and the importance of treating them with love and care.
“We are delighted to partner with The City of Great Falls Animal Shelter on this meaningful project,” said Stacy Hoehn, Board President of the Children’s Museum of Montana. “By combining art and storytelling, we hope to instill valuable lessons of compassion and empathy in children, while also raising awareness about the light of homeless animals.”
This innovative collaboration brings together two organizations dedicated to enriching the lives of children and fostering empathy towards animals in need. Through a series of captivating stories and illustrations, we aim to educate and inspire young minds while promoting the importance of kindness and empathy in our community.
