Pet adoptions skyrocketed at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic leading to significant demand for veterinary services. It’s a reason why a new pet clinic is proposed in Maple Grove.
Veterinarian Partners is proposing Maple Grove Pet Hospital, a 5,400-square-foot building on a side parking lot that once served the former AMC movie theater. The movie theater complex has since been transformed into Floor & Décor.
The Maple Grove Planning Commission will review the plans, which call for a mix of brick and nichiha siding. According to planning documents, the veterinary clinic is not expected to greatly impact the overall traffic of the area.
“An attractive building with example landscaping will also enhance the appearance of the Main Street intersection,” read a report by Maple Grove planning staff.
Veterinarian Partners was established in 2021 and expects to generate more than $50 million in revenue by next year from its practices in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Indiana and Pennsylvania, according to a report submitted by the company to the city.
The company owns another location in Brooklyn Park called Brooklyn Park Pet Hospital.
