April 2, 2024 Press Release from the City of Lima: The Spay and Neuter Assistance Program (SNAP) is designed to assist Lima residents with voluntary sterilization of companion animals as a proactive approach to controlling pet overpopulation. This assistance program will give first priority to low-income residents, but all residents in need of assistance will be considered. Neighbors call John Curmak the cat whisperer. Customer Nadi Ovanessoff said her cat, Guava, was feral and badly matted before Curmak stepped in. “Nobody else would see her,” Ovanessoff said. “The vets wouldn’t see her unless she was sedated. Around 3:30 pm, Selwyn Township firefighters responded to a report of a house fire on Hillis Road, off Fife’s Bay Road.
