Janie is Christy and her husband Ben’s approximately 5-year-old German Shepard they adopted from the Greene County Animal Control in 2021. DANVILLE — Danville firefighters responded to a reported residence on fire at approximately 4:18 pm Saturday, March 16. Upon arrival firefighters encountered a large amount of smoke coming from the one-story, wooden-frame residence. The occupants of the residence who had discovered and escaped the fire were outside when the fire arrived. They reported that two dogs remained inside the building, according to the Danville Fire Department. Firefighters immediately entered the building and began searching the residence for the pets.
